2.1Reconstruction ‘payment’
The lexeme can be reconstructed based on its derivatives and on its presence as the first member of a compound, i.e. in Lyc. A tlla-xñta- and Lyc. B kille-terble-. Lycian B k is the regular outcome of *ku̯ before front vowels, while Lycian A shows t. The first member is interpreted as an instrument noun *ku̯i-dhlo- (Hajnal 1995a:128, DLL:68) and reconstructed as *ku̯i-lle- for Proto-Lycian.
[D.S.]
For the base of the derivative see PAnat. *ku̯ei̯-.
