1.1.3Meaning
The semantics of this lexeme are elucidated by Savelsberg 1878a:30. He assumes an etymological connection with tti-(ti) ´to cause (sth.) to be paid´, which occurs in similar contexts as tll(e)i-(di) (likewise Thomsen 1899a:43). The discovery of the Lycian compound tllaxñta ‘payment standard’ in the trilingual inscription brings further confirmation to the meaning of the verb ttl(e)i-(di) (Laroche 1974a:124); cf. DLL:68, Neumann 2007a:382f. with further literature.
The direct objects of the verb ttl(e)i-(di) are sacrificial animals, while the indirect objects are deities (Christiansen 2020a:198, 231, 254). In TL 109.6 and TL 111.3, the verb is construed with the locative case (pace Christiansen ibid.) of qla- ‘sacred precinct’, which refers to the place, where the payment should be made.
Das Verb ttl(e)i-(di) is a reduplicated form of the non-attested *tll(e)i-(di); cf. Heubeck 1985a:40. The function of the reduplication used for this verb is unclear. It cannot be iterative, since the verb refers to a one-time payment in each example.

2. Reconstruction
2.1Reconstruction
The derivational base of the reduplicated verb ttl(e)i-(di), i.e. *tll(e)i-(di), is a denominative in -(e)i-(di) (< *-éi̯e/o-) derived from the instrumental noun *tlle- (< *ku̯i-dhlo-) (Hajnal 1995a:128, DLL:68).
Since the Proto-Lycian root must be reconstructed with an initial labio-velar *ku̯- (cf. Lyc. B klleime-), the etymological connection between Lyc. A ttl(e)i-(di) and Hitt. tattaluške/a- ‘to buy out (?)’ must be rejected on phonological grounds (PA *ku̯- > Hitt. /ku̯/), pace Oettinger 1976a:106 n. 11, Eichner 1983a:54f. n. 44. The same applies to the connection with Hitt. daliye/a- ‘to let go’, pace Carruba 1978b:171 n. 26; cf. HEG T/D:272, Neumann 2007a:383.
