1.1.3Meaning
Following Brandenstein 1929a:287, Gusmani 1964a:114 argues for an etymological relationship between cati- and ca-(t) ‘to give a share, to make a dedication’, which is entirely plausible. The context seems to be about the rights of a property (qira- in line 9 and 13), i.e. fa=mλ=ad taadas ẽntrol […] facatil (LW 14.17) ‘(His) father handed it over to him [and … ] cati-ed’. A meaning pertaining to dedication would be contextually adequate. However, since the context is fragmentary, no semantic assignment is provided here.

1.1.4Stem
The verb cati- is surely a denominative verb in -i-(t) or -i-(d) derived from a nominal base *cati- c. This nominal base is surely derived from ca-(t) ‘to give a share, to make a dedication’.
[D.S.]
For the derivational base, see Lyd. ca-(t).
