1.1.3Meaning

Brandenstein 1931b:2 and Meriggi 1935a:100 n. 65 recognize rightly that the verb caši- is a formation in -ši- built on the verb ca-(t) (followed by Gusmani 1964a:114, Sasseville 2021a:506). A meaning close to the one of the verb ca-(t) ‘to give a share, to make a dedication’ can be assigned tentatively. The sentence in which caši- occurs is still very much obscure.
