1.1.3Meaning
The meaning of niqašl(i)- depends on that of niqašl(i)-, which is here translated as ‘renter (?)’ (contra Gusmani 1964a:175). As opposed to qašl(i)-, the niqašl(i)- in LW 12 is someone who is seen in a positive light. Therefore, it should refer to the one who does not or, in other words, should refrain from renting out the rock-carved grave and its property to someone else in posterity.
dum=mλ=it kocwid niqašllλ tatrot (LW 12.9)
‘They will keep handing over to him, the one refraining from renting (the grave) out, kocwid.’
[D.S.]
1.1.4Stem
For the paradigm of Lydian i-mutated stems, see Sasseville 2017a. On the prefix ni-, see Gérard 2005a:91. On the geminate -ll-, see the dubious explanation of Heubeck 1990a:259.

For the derivational base see Lyd. qašl(i)-.
