1.1.2Forms
| (gen. adj). dat./loc. sg. | šaralλ | LW 14.8 (Sardis) |
It is unclear whether the genitival adjective in -l(i)- has been substantivized or whether it agrees with the preceding word, i.e. šiqṛ[..λ?] šaralλ, which is however broken off. It is even possible that šaralλ is a patronymicon, but this is unprovable based on the current state of research.

1.1.3Meaning
The root šar- is likely related to either the one of šarẽta- ‘protector’ or to the preverb šar- (matching CLuw. šarri and šarra) in šarištros(i)-, but none of this is provable. For an analysis of the clause, see Lyd. takto-.
