ñterewete(/i)-
‘(unknown)’1.1.1Transmission
This lexeme is attested in the inscription of the inscribed pillar of Xanthos, dated contextually to shortly after the ascension of Artaxerxes II in 405-404 BCE and stylistically to around 400 BCE (Borchhardt & Eichner 1997-1999a:19f.).

1.1.2Forms
| gen. adj. of unclear case | ñterewetehi | TL 44b.8 (Xanthos) |
Since the passage is fragmentary, it is difficult to attribute a certain case to the genitive adjective in question; either the head noun is lost in the lacuna or it agrees with the following kumetija (if it is not a mistake for kumez!ija; see under kumezi(je)-) perhaps in the dat./loc. sg. (a nom. sg. is less likely on syntactic grounds).

1.1.3Graphic Features
Considering the shape of the word, it is surely complete as is (thus also Eichner 2005a:26); pace Neumann 2007a:251. Contra DLL:100, an identification as a personal name is excluded by the use of the gen. adj. in -ehi.

1.1.4Meaning
No meaning can be assigned based on the context, because it is still poorly understood (cf. Eichner 2005a:26f.). From a morphological perspective, the word is either a compound made of ñte ‘in, inside’ and a noun *(e)rewete(/i)- ‘(a derivative of Lyc. arawa-)(?)’ (thus Gehrisch 2018a:70, though without the univerbation) or a derivative of ñtere/i- with a chain of suffixes, i.e. -we/i- and -te(/i)-. Nonetheless, neither analysis provides us with the meaning of the word in question.
