This lexeme is a hapax attested on TL 44, the pillar of Xanthos, dated stylistically to around 400 BCE and contextually to shortly after the ascension of the Persian emperor Artaxerxes II in 405-404 BCE (Borchhardt & Eichner 1997-1999a:19f.).

Note that Melchert (DLL:130) and Neumann 2007a:347 rather segment epñ tere, i.e. a sequence of epñ and tere/i-, whereas Schürr 2016d:161 furthermore segments terekere with tere belonging to the following form kere, i.e. in an āmreḍita compound meaning ‘Ort für Ort’.
[O.B.]
1.1.3Meaning
Lyc. B epñtere occurs before kere ‘in the territories’ (dat./loc. pl. of Lyc. B kere/i-). Contextually, a local adjectival meaning is plausible. Moreover, this becomes likely in comparison to the formally reminiscent HLuw. adjective /annantarra/i-/ ‘lower’, which likewise modifies places, i.e. a place name on KULULU lead strip 1, §4, 15 and a river on TELL AHMAR 15, §9 (pace DLL:130, Neumann 2007a:347, Schürr 2016d:161, see Forms).

1.1.4Stem
Lyc. B epñtere is formed with the comparative suffix -tere/i- to the adverb epñ ‘behind, after’, cf. HLuw. /annantarra/i-/ ‘lower’.
