1.1.3Meaning
It is possible that ada- in LW 11.10 is a personal name and that adalλ is either a patronymic or simply expresses the possessor, i.e. adalλ akšaakmλ ‘Akšaakmiš (child) of Ada (?)’. The fact that the genitival adjective is preponed, whereas it generally follows the head, is not a problem in this case, since the inscription is a poetical one, in which the syntax is adapted to the meter. Meriggi 1935a:92 suggests for LW 11.10 that adalλ is an epithet of Artemis, who is named in the preceding sentence, which is not likely. The attestation in LW 14.14 is found in a fragmentary passage, which does not contribute to the situation.
