For the grammatical assignment see DLL:119. Shevoroshkin (apud Neumann 2007a:182) suggests a verbal ending in -ta instead of -te. This is unparalleled and, therefore, not accepted here.

1.1.3Meaning
The word lajata occurs in an obscure context. Schürr 2005a:142 suggests that it agrees with the word tidñta ‘?’, although it is more likely that is agrees with mñnusama ‘made into something fertile’ occurring right before. Shevoroshkin 2002a:229 assumes the existence of a Lycian root la- meaning ‘to take’ and assumes that lajata- is a derivative meaning ‘takers’. His semantic assignment cannot be supported contextually or morphologically (contra Shevoroshkin 2014a:247).
