elihala-
‘(a title)’1.1.1Transmission
This lexeme is attested once in a decree or dedicatory inscription written during the reign of Pttule.

1.1.2Forms
| nom. sg.(?) | elihala[ | TL 35.6 (Kadyanda) |
Its grammatical assignment is considered tentative here because of the fragmentary state of the context, but cf. under Stem.
[D.S.]
1.1.3Graphic Features
Neumann 2007a:55f. proposes restoring el[iha]l[a in TL 35.4 (two lines earlier), which is possible but unprovable due to the fragmentary state of the context.
[D.S.]
1.1.4Meaning
Because of the fragmentary context, no semantic assignment can be verified. From a morphological perspective (see under Stem), it could refer to a title comparable to aladehala-.
[D.S.]
1.1.5Stem
Shevoroshkin 1969a:265 compares it to the noun aladehali. Indeed, it can be best interpreted as an agent noun in -ala- c. (Sasseville 2014-2015a) derived from the verb ha-(di) ‘to release’, just aladehala-. The preverb eli separated from eli-hala- is also found in a particle chain in N 320.13 (contra Neumann 2007a:55f., who sees a genitival adjective *elijehe/i- as the derivational base of the form in -ala-). If it is truly an agent noun in -ala-, elihala[ must be taken as a nominative singular.
[D.S.]
For the lemma head see Lyc. ha-(ti) or ha-(di).
