1.1.2Forms

unknown Torouo C.Ka 5, 15-16

The attestation follows Adiego 2007a:435, checked against the photograph in Frei & Marek 1997a:Taf. I and Frei & Marek 1998a:Taf. I. The segmentation of Torouo is not assured, but plausible (see already Adiego 2000a:144), since it is preceded by a sequence sb that can be identified with sb ‘and’ (see s.v., this segmentation is accepted also in Marek 2006a:120) and followed by a sequence bi that can be identified with the particle bi (see s.v.).

1.1.3Graphic Features

The value of the letter ‹T› remains unknown, see the overview in Adiego 2007a:253.

1.1.4Meaning ‘(unknown)’

Although it appears in a bilingual text, the relevant passage of the Greek part is lost. Furthermore, its context is completely opaque and thus, no combinatory evidence is available currently. Adiego 2000a:144 called attention to the formal assonance with Lycian arawa- ‘freedom’ (see s.v.), but admitted that the presence of the first letter, ‹T›, is a problem since its separation from °orouo is not plausible considering that the preceding sequence is probably the word sb ‘and’ (Adiego 2000a:144, Adiego 2007a:435). Accordingly, this connection can currently not be maintained and the meaning of Torouo is unknown (so also Adiego 2007a:435).
