Buckler 1924a:62 does no attempt to read the last letter, which is broken off, i.e. aλẽ.[. Vetter 1959a:57 n. 23, however, restores aλẽλ̣?[ probably based on Buckler’s photo, where the letter λ would fit the traces of the damaged sign. Furthermore, he restores the vowel -o-, i.e. aλẽλ̣?[o.] (followed by Gusmani 1964a:56, 265 and Melchert 2001e), since every line of the poem ends with a syllable in -o-. Vetter also restores the ending -l, i.e. aλẽλ̣?[ol], to match the verb fasaknakil, with which it is coordinated by the disjunction puk (thus also Brandenstein 1931b:54). This all depends, of course, on whether the following syllable is the last one, and Gusmani 1964a:265 n. 44 points out rightly that the lacuna could be bigger. Overall, the status of this word must be treated carefully until further evidence is found.

1.1.4Meaning
An etymological connection to Lyd. aλa- ‘other’ has been suggested by Vetter 1959a:57 n. 23 and compared to the Latin verb alienare ‘to alienate’, assuming a verbal derivative (provisionally accepted by Gusmani 1964a:56). This is possible but, since the word is broken off, very tentative.
