‘never again’1.1.1Transmission
This lexeme is found on the inscribed pillar of Xanthos dated contextually to shortly after the ascension of Artaxerxes II in 405-404 BCE and stylistically around 400 BCE (Borchhardt & Eichner 1997-1999a:19f.).

1.1.3Meaning
The word nekm̃mẽti has been treated as two separate words, i.e. Lyc. ne ‘not’ + km̃mẽt(i)- ‘as many as’ (DLL:118, 122, Neumann 2007a:171). Schürr 2001b:121f. takes it as unitary and posits a univerbation of ne + km̃mẽt(i)-, but does not offer an adequate translation. If one compares Lyd. nikumẽk ‘never again’, it is hard not to see the same kind of univerbation in the Lycian B word, which even brings more sense into the context.
urtuz : marãz trbbẽniti nekm͂mẽti (TL 44d.63-64)
‘he (scil. Gergis) will never again oppose the great laws’
This is an appropriate sentence, since we know from earlier passages of the poem that the Lycian king has committed religious offense, which has angered the gods; see TL 44d.11-14, 24.
