1.1.3Meaning
No meaning is offered by Gusmani 1980a:70, although he suggests that lapλ is the recipient of the dedication. Considering the fragmentary state of the inscription, this claim is far from certain.
[D.S.]
1.1.4Stem
Based on the syncope in the ending, the word lapλ is barytone and could be the dative of a consonantal stem, i.e. lap-, or of a mutated stem, i.e. lap(i)-.

1.1.6Origin
As per Gusmani 1980a:70, a connection with Lyd. lew- ‘Zeus’ is phonologically impossible (pace Gusmani 1975b:38). His alternative connection with the Lydian word lawl finds no contextual support and in spite of the occasional vacillation of -p- and -w- (for which see Gusmani 1965a:206f.), they should be kept apart lexically; cf. Gusmani 1980a:70. No etymology possible.
