1.1.4Meaning
Nothing had been suggested in the dictionaries so far; cf. Laroche 1959a:94, CLL:219. Melchert (apud Sasseville 2021a:83) suggests an adjectival derivation in -ai(ya)- built on tāru- n. ‘wood’, which would lead to the translation of arūna tarwaiya as ‘wooded heights’. However attractive this may be, it must remain hypothetical due to the fragmentary state of the context.
