1.1.3.1Phonological Interpretation
With the syllabic spelling broken up by the logogram ARMA (*273), the phonological interpretation of this lexeme remains tentative because ARMA has not so far been linked to a syllabic reading. The exact shape of the stem of the verb therefore remains obscure until further evidence for the verb is found. Well-known from other verbs, the infinitive ending /-una/ is only partially visible in the present attestation.

1.1.4Meaning
Interpreting /warpuna?/ as the infinitive of an otherwise in HLuw. unattested verb */warp-/, Yakubovich 2019a:584 cautiously connects it on contextual grounds to Hittite warpa- ‘circle, enclosure’ and warpā(i)-(mi) ‘to enclose’ as cognates rather than the HLuw. noun /warp(i)-/ ‘weapon, tool’ and suggests a meaning ‘to lock, to imprison’ vel sim. This interpretation remains tentative in the absence of further attestations that could further elucidate the matter, not least because the logogram ARMA is otherwise tightly, albeit not exclusively linked to the word family around /warp(i)-/ ‘weapon; tool’.
[AH.B.]
1.1.5Stem
Recognized as the infinitive of a verb from the start (Hawkins 2000a:31), the stem of the verb nevertheless remains obscured by the use of the logogram ARMA in a place where the stem final part would appear; the logogram is not currently connected to a reliable syllabic reading. Yakubovich 2019a:584 suggests to pair the lexeme with a word family not otherwise attested in HLuw., but found e.g. in CLuw. warp(i)- ‘enclosure, lid’.
