tm͂pere/i-
‘(unknown)’1.1.1Transmission
This lexeme is found in a dedicatory inscription.

1.1.2Forms
| nom. pl. (?) | tm͂peri | TL 65.7 (Isinda) |
The grammatical assignment as nom. pl. depends on the preceding [t]ạ̃ṇạ̃i ‘the Athenians’, but must be considered highly tentative due to the fragmentary state of the inscription.
[D.S.]
1.1.3Meaning
The meaning cannot be determined from the context, which is too fragmentary. The coordination of tm͂peri with [t]ạ̃ṇạ̃i ‘the Athenians’ leads one to believe that the word refers to people, but this is hardly provable. Melchert (DLL:69) even suggests a personal name.
[D.S.]
1.1.4Stem
The noun is surely derived from the base tẽpe found so far only in Lycian B (Shevoroshkin 1969b:348). Melchert (DLL:69) and Neumann 2007a:369 compare the formation of tideri (analyzed as a compound with *ere/i-), although Melchert rightly points out that a mere formation in -re/i- is just as possible (thus Serangeli 2019b:214 n. 28).
