1.1.2Forms
| 2sg. impv. act. | /iyarinaya/ | (“LONGUS”)ia-ti-na-ia | ASSUR letter e, §25 (Assur) |
The form at ASSUR letter e, §25 is analysed as a 3sg. pres. act. by Hawkins 2000a:536, but a 2sg. impv. act. is much more likely in a context abounding with such forms.

1.1.3.1Phonological Interpretation
Despite only a single attestation, this verb can perhaps be fixed with a reasonably clear phonological interpretation. Even if the syllabic spelling does not provide an obvious connection to the verb /i(ya)ri-(ti)/ ‘to extend’, the use of the logogram LONGUS (sign *62) strongly suggests it, since it constitutes a mainstay with that verb. The spelling with 〈ti〉 instead of 〈+ra/i〉 vel sim. is likely due to hypercorrection in the face of sweeping rhotacism affecting intervocalic /d, l/ in particular (for which cf. e.g. Melchert 2003b:179-182).
However, it should be noted that Hawkins 2000a:548 points out the cursive shape of LONGUS in ASSUR letter e, §25, which thus strongly resembles a combination of *69 (more than MANUS proper) and MINUS. Particularly *69 implies the possibility of a link to a different verb, viz. HLuw. /i(ya)di-(ti)/ ‘to delete’.

1.1.4Meaning
The first meaning tentatively suggested was ‘to solicit’ (Hawkins 2000a:548), which does not hold up in the face of the reinterpretation as an imperative in the context. The present meaning is proposed by Yakubovich 2017e:s.v. on the basis of the putative link with the verb /i(ya)ri-(ti)/ ‘to extend’ and the presence of the compound preverb /sarrahha/ ‘up from’ in ASSUR letter e, §25: a-wa/i-wa/i-mu-ta (“*198”)ki+ra/i-ra+a-za *317.CRUS2(-)pa-sa-za-ha SUPER+ra/i-ha (“LONGUS”)ia-ti-na-ia, approx. /awi=wa=mu=tta kiradanz …-passanz sarrahha iyarinaya/, perhaps translating at least partly as ‘(Also, dispatch k. and very good s., they are to go to the river-lord.) Come (on), promote (?) me up from k.- and *317, (… to/for me, and dispatch to me Tyrean …!)’ (cf. Hawkins 2000a:536).

1.1.5Stem
If the verb is indeed related to /iyari-(ti)/ ‘to extend’, it has undergone further derivation with at least the verbal suffix /-ina-/ (cf. Sasseville 2021a:529f.) and possibly another such as /-i(ya)-(di)/ or /-iya-(i)/. Alternatively, the form attested in ASSUR letter e, §25 may be a 3sg. pres. act. with the extended ending /-aya/ after all (cf. Sasseville 2021a:387f.), although a 2sg. impv. act. is contextually far more likely. Further evidence is needed.
