1.1.3.1Phonological Interpretation
The phonological interpretation of this word is tentative. Thus far, the word lacks etymological connections that could aid in the interpretation of the HLuw. spelling, and the word-medial velar is hence represented by the cover symbol /K/ until further evidence surfaces, determining its quality more precisely. In addition to that, Dinçol, Dinçol, Hawkins, Peker & Öztan 2015a:66 note that the signs at ARSUZ 1, §5 may perhaps require a different reading.
Even though use of the logogram URCEUS (sign *345) by itself is limited to the present lexeme, the sign has been known for a long time, because it is found in personal names and titles, see Laroche 1960c:183.

1.1.4Meaning
The meaning of this word is assigned based first and foremost on the use of the logogram URCEUS, which is very pictographic and resembles a jug or pitcher, and the contexts of attestation support the assignment. With the two ARSUZ inscriptions running parallel with minor differences, a citing of ARSUZ 1, §5 will suffice: a-wa/i OVIS(ANIMA) 20 PANIS-li-sa CRUS OVIS(ANIMA) 100 (URCEUS)mu-ka BONUS2.VITIS-mi-zi CRUS+RA/I, approx. /a=wa hawi … …-lis … hawi … muKas …-minzi …/, meaning ‘Twenty PANIS-li- breads stood for a sheep (and) one hundred jugs of BONUS2.VITIS- wine stood for a sheep’ (cf. Dinçol, Dinçol, Hawkins, Peker & Öztan 2015a:65)

1.1.5Stem
Largely unclear. The stem form used at ARSUZ 1, §5 appears to suggest an a-stem, but a fully inflected form would be needed to verify such a claim.
