The interpretation of medio-passives in -tat is outdated (contra Gusmani 1960a:59 n. 42, Gusmani 1964a:106, Oreshko 2018b:246), see Melchert 1992a:44f., Sasseville 2015a:291, Sasseville 2021a:65.

For the reading of the second letter ṇ, see Buckler 1924a:21.

1.1.4Meaning
Since the clause with ẽnšarpta-(t) is preceded by one with a verb meaning ‘to write’ and since the object of ẽnšarpta-(t) is mru- ‘stele’, the logical conclusion is that ẽnšarpta-(t) means ‘to carve, inscribe’ (Carruba 1960a:58, Gusmani 1964a:106, followed by Oreshko 2018b:246, Sasseville 2021a:65f.).

1.1.5Stem
For the interpretation of ẽnšarptat as a factitive in -a-(t), see Melchert 1992a:44f., Sasseville 2015a:291, Sasseville 2021a:65.

1.1.6Origin
Shevoroshkin 1969b:345 compares the obscure Lycian B root zrbb-, which may not be phonologically accurate if the -bb- here is expected to equate to Lyd. -f- instead of -p-.
