1.1.2Forms
| nom. sg. c. | kolciš | LW 15.2 (Sardis) |
The word koττis does not belong to the same lexeme as kolc(i)- contra Meriggi 1935a:105; see under Lyd. koττ(i)-.
[D.S.]
1.1.3Graphic Features
The word kolciš is surely complete, although Gusmani 1964a:153f. points out rightly that a break occurs right before the beginning of the word.
[D.S.]
1.1.4Meaning
The word kolciš agrees in case, number and gender with tarpla-, which was previously translated as ‘owner (?)’. The preceding sentence states that the subject did not perform an action in a certain way. Therefore, Meriggi 1935a:104 suggests the translation ‘rightful’ for kolciš. This translation is very tentative and is rightly marked with a question mark by Gusmani 1964a:153f.
