1.1.4Meaning
The word išḫanni can be best interpreted as a verbal abstract noun in -ātar/-ann- to the root verb išḫa- ‘to bind (?)’. The sentence in which the noun is attested is not completely preserved, which hinders a verification of the semantics. Nonetheless, the morphological and lexical approach combined yield a meaning that is completely appropriate within the context, since the bull running up the sky has been bound (line 3).
