1.1.4Meaning

Not only the obvious verb formation, i.e. suffixation of imperfective -šša-(i) to the verbal stem tarm(a)i-, but also the context with occurrences of tarm(i)- ‘nail, peg’ (4’, 5’), (GIŠ)GAG ‘nail, peg’ (11’, 12’), GIŠNÍG.GUL ‘hammer’ (7’), and tarm(a)i- ‘to nail, fasten’ (4’) prove that tarmišša-(i) belongs as its imperfective stem to the last item of the list (CLL:213, EDHIL:844, Sasseville 2021a:501f.; cf. also DLL:92f.).
