1.1.3Meaning
The context, in which the word cfisad is found, is obscure. No meaning is offered by Gusmani 1964a:90.
Shevoroshkin 1988b:288 suggests an etymological connection with the word *du̯i- ‘two’, comparing Lyc. B tbisu, which is possible but unprovable for now. A different approach would be the root for ‘god’, i.e. *ciw-is-ad, with syncope of the first vowel and the sound change w > f after a consonant, i.e. cf-is-ad. This is also hypothetical.

1.1.4Stem
Brandenstein 1931b:49 suggests that cfisad is a verb in -a-(d), which remains a possibility. Otherwise, it could be a neuter noun in the nominative/accusative neuter gender. A suffix -is- in Lydian is so far unidentified.
