1.1.3Meaning
Scholars agree that ihiqla represents a compound designating a kind of precinct like hriqla- (DLL:27, Neumann 2007a:147). Neumann (ibid.) suggests that the first member is a contracted form of *ijehi, which he would interpret as a genitival adjective of a deity named *Ije-. This must be considered tentative until further evidence arises.
