The grammatical assignment follows that of Gusmani 1980a:89. It is also supported by the genitival adjective acc. sg. c. [ … ]ṣṭọlν, expected to agree with šikimλaν.

1.1.3Meaning
Gusmani 1980a:89 suggests an etymological connection with kimλad, which is surely correct (see under lemma). This confirms that šikimλa- contains the prefix ši-. Nevertheless, it does not shed any light on the meaning of šikimλaν.
