1.1.3.1Phonological Interpretation
Assuming a defective spelling of a geminate nasal with singleton -n-, the first two syllables of the word can probably be interpreted as /sunna-/ (cf. šunnuwant(i)- from the same verb; thus Starke 1990a:521 and CLL:197, but differently EDHIL:785f.). For the same phenomenon in the secondary suffix -ttar(/-ttan-), see under Stem.
[E.R.]
1.1.4Meaning
The semantic interpretation goes back to Carruba 1972a:9 with n. 11, who analyzes the word as abstract noun “šunatar ‘Fülle’ und -u̯ant- ‘versehen mit’.” This is largely accepted in Starke 1990a:521, CLL:197, EDHIL:785f., HEG Š:1170, Tischler 2008a:155, Yakubovich 2005a:246; still without semantic gloss DLL:87. As noted in Starke 1990a:520, the head noun of the adjective can be supplied as UDKAM-iš from the immediately preceding context: ‘Furnish (scil. the day that is) bringing gains (and is) rich in outpourings!’.

1.1.5Stem
Based on Carruba 1972a:9 n. 11 analysis, a derivational chain šunna- + -ttar(/-ttan-) + -want(i)- is assumed here. In principle, for the secondary suffix, both fortis -ttar/-tt(a)n- /-tar/-tn-/ (see Starke 1990a:521, CLL:197) and lenis -tar/-t(a)n- /-dar/-dn-/ (as seen in Lyc. A huwedre/i-) are possible, but the former is far more productive in Luwian and, therefore, preferred here.
Alternatively, Melchert (CLL:197) considers an instrument noun in -ttar-, but this does not allow a satisfactory semantic analysis (**‘full of instruments of filling’).
