1.1.3Graphic Features
Checked against the photographs of the Konkordanz. Carruba 1970a:56 opens the possibility that the sequence ḫi-na-pé-eš-ḫu-ur should be separated into two words. However, it is more likely that it is a compound; cf. under Meaning.

1.1.4Meaning
The ḫinapešḫur is the direct object of the action of purifying. The second part of the word contains the Palaic word for ‘blood’, i.e. ešḫur/ēšḫa(n)-. The first part of the word however is unknown. Therefore, no exact semantics can be posited for ḫinapešḫur. One can only claim that it refers to something negative.
[D.S.]
For the second member of the compound see Pal. ešḫur/ēšḫa(n)-.
