1.1.4Meaning
The word wiyannaš can be interpreted as a free-standing genitive of an abstract noun *wiyātar; cf. under Pal. malitannaš for the suffix and Lyc. B wijedri for a possible cognate. It is spoken twice by the Old Woman, who performs a ritual for the festival. The wiyannaš denotes something that is libated; perhaps wine. Unfortunately, the corresponding Hittite word is lost in the lacuna.
