1.1.3Meaning

The context in which the word tfil is found is obscure. Meriggi 1935a:105 n. 82 suggests an etymological connection with Lyd. tafa- ‘?’, which is possible, but unprovable, and thus does not provide any further help. No meaning can be offered; cf. Gusmani 1964a:212.
