1.1.3Meaning
Gusmani 1980a:101 suggests a connection with the Lydian root tam- ‘to build’, but there is no evidence within the context that tẽmwaν has any semantic connection with ‘build(ing)’. Schürr 2006b:1571 assumes that tẽmwaν is coordinated with tutra=k ‘and the daughter (?)’ as genitive plural and that both are dependent on taada[.] ‘father’. Therefore, he suggests that tẽmwaν is a family term such as ‘son-in-law’. His semantic assignment cannot be proven and considering the fact that the context is fragmentary, no meaning will be offered here.
