This putative word is only attested in a Lycian personal name that has been interpreted as a compound, i.e. xluwãnime/i- (TL 67.1); see Starke 1990a:475, Shevoroshkin 2012a:471, Serangeli 2021a:190.

2. Reconstruction
2.1Reconstruction ‘(unknown)’
The comparison of the two Luwic elements Luw. *ḫalwa- and Lyc. *xluwa- with the possible meaning ‘joy, cheer (vel sim.)’ (see under Derivatives) allows for the reconstruction of an abstract noun in *-eh2- to an Indo-European root of the shape *Helg(h)u̯- with the Luwic sound change *g(h)u̯- > w or, if it has an extension, simply *Hel-u̯-. The latter could be connected to the root of Hitt. ḫalkueššar ‘supplies, profit’ (cf. HED H:40f., EDHIL:275, HEG A-H:134), if the semantic development can be accounted for. More evidence is needed.
