The alleged dat./loc. sg.
la-pa-nu-u-wa-ni-ia is attested in the Ulmi-Teššub treaty (KBo 4.10 obv. 33’; CTH 106, NS). Watkins 1997a:31 proposes the reading
la-pa-ni!
wa-a-ni-ia at KBo 4.10 obv. 33’, correlating with la-a-pa-ni
wa-a-ni-ia in the parallel passage at Bo 86/299 ii 6. The corrected reading is accepted in, e.g., the edition by van den Hout 1995a:30f. and Starke 1990a:230f.The earlier reading
la-pa-nu-u-wa-ni-ia and ideas about its stem formation since Güterbock 1956a:122, followed in HW:358, Laroche 1966b:260, Carruba 1980b:363f., CHD L-N:41, HEG L-N:33, are now obsolete. See under lāpana-.
