1.1.2Forms

nom. sg. [ma]-˹a˺-ru-uš KBo 19.160 ii 2’ (CTH 754, NS)
  ma-a-ru-uš KBo 19.160 ii 5’ (CTH 754, NS)

1.1.3Meaning

Due to the fragmentary state of the context, it is difficult to obtain a reliable meaning, although the mention of various nutriments within the song makes an etymological comparison with HLuw. mara/i-wa/i-li- ‘corn-stem’ and CLuw. marawalli(ya)- highly tempting. In this case, Pal. māru- would mean ‘corn’. However, more work on the Palaic context is needed.

[D.S.]

1.1.4Stem

The lexeme is certainly a u-stem.
