1.1.3Meaning
The meaning of this word is unclear, although Hawkins 2000a:294 hypothesises that it may denote some kind of commodity. It occurs in a clause with several other unknown words, likewise represented by logograms, whose shapes have yet to be interpreted. KARAHÖYÜK (ELBİSTAN), §15 reads: *517 DEUS.X? *a-mi-i(a)-ti DOMUS-ti i(a)-za/i 1 *518 1 *519 1 *520, approx. /… amiyadi parnadi izziha …/, partly translating as ‘For (?) *517, I celebrated the god … from my house with one *518, one *519, (and) one *520’ (cf. Hawkins 2000a:290). The interpretation of the form as an abl./instr. is entirely contextual.
