1.1.4Meaning
Since the publication of KBo 32.126 in 1990, the verb remained unnoticed (see e.g. HEG Š:896, EDHIL:727,Yakubovich 2017d). Only recently, Melchert listed it in his dictionary without translation (DCL:s.v.), yet pointing to its likely base noun CLuw. šār(r)iyan(i)-, which he describes as an “[i]mplement used by midwife.” Based on the semantic interpretation of šār(r)iyan(i)- as ‘curry comb’, the denominative verb can now be rendered as ‘to treat with a curry comb’.

1.1.5Stem
The 3pl. impv. form in -indu suggests a denominative verb in -i-(ti), built from CLuw. šār(r)iyan(i)- ‘curry comb’.

For the lemma head see CLuw. šār(r)iyan(i)-.
