1.1.4Meaning
The meaning is obtained from both a contextual perspective restore thanks to a new join (see Sasseville 2021a:563-565) and an etymological perspective with Luw. ḫāšiya- found in Hittite context (see below); see Sasseville 2021a:322f.

1.1.5Stem
Taking all attestations including the Hieroglyphic Luwian evidence into consideration (see HLuw. /hasi-/), Sasseville 2021a:322f. assigns for Luw. ḫāšiya- a deradical formation in -i(ya)-(di). However, a confirmation from the 3sg. ending is missing.

1.2.3Meaning ‘to satiate’
Originally held to be of unknown meaning (Bawanypeck 2005a:113, 119), later research suggested ‘to make powerful’ (HW (2nd ed.) Ḫ:421 s.v. [with question mark]; Ünal 2007a:193f., Ünal 2016a:173) and ‘to satiate’ (Melchert 2012c:178 n. 4, based on the homonymy with Hieroglyphic Luwian hasi(ya)-, allegedly meaning ‘to satiate’, see s.v.). The context is an incantation to the invoked Tutelary God of the Kurša at the prepared offering, describing with a series of participles (referring to the deity) and imperatives (in figura etymologica) what kind of benefits he should do in favour of the royal couple and the country. Although both solutions fit the general context, the suggestion ‘to satiate’ (i.e. “As a satiated one, satiate!”, Melchert 2012c:178 n. 4) fits better than the other (“der (du) stark/mächtig (?) (bist), mache (sie = Königspaar) stark/mächtig(?)”, HW (2nd ed.) Ḫ:421), since it refers to the offering (scene), just like the previous phrase (“als zum Hause Zurückgewendeter, wende dich zurück”, Bawanypeck 2005a:112f.).

1.2.4Origin
Since HW (2nd ed.) Ḫ:421 s.v. (“wohl”) generally and rightly held to be Luwian due to ḫāšiyamiš, a transparent Luwian participle (Bawanypeck 2005a:119; Ünal 2007a:193, Ünal 2016a:173; Melchert 2012c:178 n.4, published probably too late be included in the lists of Luwianisms of Melchert 2005a and van den Hout 2007a).
