1.1.2Forms

nom./acc. sg. ši-i-wa-ar-⸢ša⸣ KUB 35.122 l. col. 3’ + KUB 35.156, 1’ (CTH 770, MS)

In DLL:87 and CLL:195 ši-i-wa-ar- at KUB 35.122 l. col. 3’ (without join) is still listed under the verb šiwari-(ti). – The tentative assignment of ⸢ši?-wa-a[r- at KBo 46.275 Obv.? r.col. 5’ (see Sasseville 2021b:179) is less than assured. Even the reading of the initial sign as ši- must be regarded as highly doubtful; instead, wa- is more likely.

1.1.4Meaning

Without context, a semantic interpretation remains impossible. Also, its derivative šiwari-(ti) ‘to deny, withhold’ does not provide a clue to the semantics of its putative derivational base (Sasseville 2020d:249, DCL:s.v.).

[E.R.]

1.1.5Stem

As pointed out by Sasseville 2020d:249, the word has the appearance of “a -war/n- abstract noun derived from a root šī-.”
