1.1.4Meaning
The verb tiyar refers to something occurring to the bull after he was wrestled and covered. If we equate tiyar with Hitt. tiye/a- ‘to bind (?)’ (see EDHIL:880f. with further literature), the phrase tiyar=wa ašiwa could translate as ‘That one is (being) bound’. Further evidence for the action of ‘binding’ comes from the abstract noun (dat. sg.) išḫanni ‘binding’ (see Pal. išḫa- under Derivatives), mentioned in the same context two lines later.
