1.1.3.1Phonological Interpretation
Unclear. While it is quite possible that the present verb represents a reduplicated form of *77- ‘to pledge, give in marriage’, its phonological remains in the dark just like that of its putative derivational base, cf. Hawkins 2010a:188. The logogram *77 is unique to these two verbs, and its shape has yet to be identified, although Hawkins 2000a:549 (again Hawkins 2010a:188) suspects it represents a hand with crossed fingers, which is possible, but requires more evidence.

1.1.4Meaning
The meaning of this verb is mostly opaque. If it is indeed related to *77- ‘to pledge, give in marriage’, its meaning should probably be sought within the same domain, and based on its morphology, it could denote ‘to keep promising’ vel sim. Hawkins 2010a:188 refrains from assigning any interpretation, because the context is inconclusive with the clause at POTOROO, 4a not fully preserved: [...?] ka+ra/i-ka-mi-si-ia-za(URBS) DEUS-na-za CUM-ni ARHA *77.*77-ta, approx. /… Karkamisiyanz massananz anni ahha …-ta/, perhaps meaning ‘(S)he/they kept promising(?) … away for/from the gods of Karkamiš’ (Hawkins 2010a:186f.).
[AH.B.]
1.1.5Stem
The verb is likely a reduplicated derivative, either directly or indirectly, from *77- ‘to pledge, give in marriage’, cf. Sasseville 2021a:373.
