Checked against the photograph in the Konkordanz (Mainzer Fotoarchiv). The restoration follows Meriggi 1980a:359 and Starke 1985b:151.

1.1.4Meaning
If the restoration is correct, a denominative verb based on the noun tāru- ‘wood’ would be expected to yield a meaning such as ‘to turn to wood (?)’ (Meriggi 1980a:359, CLL:219, EDHIL:849, Sasseville 2021a:147f.). Based on the context, the verb is expected to denote a negative action to be done to evil things. Therefore, the meaning ‘to turn to wood’ in the sense of ‘to petrify’ is appropriate.

1.1.5Stem
For the interpretation as a denominative in -i-(ti) derived from a nominal u-stem, see Sasseville 2021a:147f. However, Melchert (apud Sasseville 2021a) suggests that the derivational base could be the adjective tarwi(ya)- ‘related to wood, wooden’. Further evidence is needed.
