1.1.2Forms
| 3sg. pres. impv. med. | lawitẽnu | TL 107.2 (Limyra) |
Based on its coordination with the verb ddezedu, which is clearly in the 3rd person singular, lawitẽnu is surely a verbal form in the 3rd person singular as well (thus Pedersen 1904a:195, Meriggi 1936b:274, Yakubovich 2019b:405f.). As pointed out by Melchert (DLL:35), there is no contextual evidence in favor of a 2nd person plural for lawitẽnu (pace Neumann 1983a:145). Outdated Gusmani 1962a:166 n. 26.

1.1.3Meaning
The verb lawi- occurs in a curse formula and takes munikleime- n. (some kind of payment) as a direct object. No meaning of the verb has been suggested in the literature; cf. Hajnal 1995a:161 n. 177, DLL:35, Neumann 2007a:183f. Outdated Pedersen 1904a:195. In a recent paper, Yakubovich 2019b:406 etymologically compares Lyc. lawi- with Lyd. lo- (in išlodaλ) and assigns to it the meaning ´to respect´, which yields an appropriate translation of the Lycian passage.

1.1.4Stem
Hajnal 1995a:161 n. 177 assumes a verb in -i- (< *-i̯e/o-) derived from a stem *law- (likewise Yakubovich 2019b:406).
