1.1.4Meaning
The word kigganti denotes that with which one shall not let the bull go (?), which has been bound. The word kigga- is possibly cognate with Pal. kengali- (and Hitt. kingali-), which denotes some kind of instrument (see Košak 1982a:53). The sequence -gg- would have to be reconciled with -ng-, which is phonologically unproblematic, but lacks independent evidence.
