1.1.3Meaning
The root wν- in wνišλ has been compared to that of Lyd. wnẽni- (Meriggi 1935a:108 n. 91, doubted by Gusmani 1964a:227). This is possible, but currently unprovable. No meaning is suggested here.
[D.S.]
1.1.4Stem
Based on the dative singular stem-final -λ, the noun is either a mutated stem, i.e. wνiš(i)- c., or a barytone neuter a-stem, i.e. wνiša- n.
