Due to the fragmentary nature of the attestation, it is not possible to determine whether tu-u-ḫa-an-z[a] is an accusative or dative/locative form.

1.1.4Meaning
CLuw. tūḫanza occurs in a fragmentary section of an already obscure Luwian song (see Sasseville 2020d). Accordingly, no meaning is apparent from context. Some kind of relationship to Luw. tuḫḫara- ‘incense (?)’ and Hitt. tuḫḫā(i)-(mi) ‘to produce smoke’ could be hypothesized, however.

If the attested form tūḫanza is in the accusative, the ending -anza would prove that CLuw. tūḫa- is a common gender a-stem. Conversely, if the form is in the dative/locative, the stem type is not possible to determine (see Forms).
