1.1.2Forms

3sg. pres. ind. act. (?) dderlịdi TL 35.17 (Kadyanda)

Hajnal 1995a:159 n. 168 and Melchert (DLL:9) tentatively suggest a verbal form of the 3sg. pres. ind. act., which would imply a denominative verb in -(e)i-(di). Already Carruba 1977a:303 compares dderlidi with ddali[d?]i in line 15 and wonders whether an emendation of one of the two forms is necessary (likewise Hajnal and Melchert ibid.). Formally, a nominal form in -id- would be possible but, considering the obscurity of the context, unprovable.

1.1.3Meaning

No meaning has been suggested. The base dder- could possibly be related to that in dder-ije- ‘to curse (?)’, but this can hardly be proven based on the current data.
