1.1.2Forms
| 3sg. pret. act. or inf.(?) | šanil | LW 15.6 (Sardis) |
The choice of analyzing the verb as a finite form or an infinitive depends on the understanding of the context, which is obscured by the fragmentary state of the lines. Gusmani 1964a:190 considers only the option 3rd sg. pret.

1.1.3Meaning
No meaning has been suggested for this word. Gusmani 1964a:190 posits a verbal suffix -ni-, which is otherwise attested as -ẽni-(t). His comparison with ša- in Lyd. fašapil is not possible, because there is no -pi- suffix. A better comparison is with CLuw. šann(a)i-(di) (and HLuw. /sann(a)i-(di)/), although their semantics are very much debated and do not lead anywhere for the Lydian verb. The direct object of šanil is irẽnν, a noun in -ẽn(i)-, which could refer to an individual (see Sasseville 2017a:136).
