1.1.3Meaning
In the trilingual inscription, the Lycian compound hlm̃mipijata is rendered with Greek ἐχφόριον (or ἐκφόριον) ‘that which the earth produces, profit’. In the context, it refers to the profit made by the new cult, which is to be turned over to the deities of the cult (Laroche 1979c:72, followed by DLL:24, Neumann 2007a:95). The compound with hlm̃mi as a first member can be compared to the Lycian personal name hlm̃midewe- (DLL ibid, Neumann ibid.).
[D.S.]
For the second member of the compound see Lyc. A pijata-.
