1.1.3Meaning
The word haxãnã designates someone to be laid into the grave next to the husband and wife. Borchhardt & Eichner 1997-1999a:65 considers haxãnã to be a personal name (followed by DLL:95), referring to the young daughter of the couple, who can be seen on the relief, whereas Neumann 2007a:89 prefers to see a title related to Hitt. šaḫḫan- ‘service, fief’, i.e. haxãna- ‘feudal man (?)’. The convincing etymological perspective of Neumann would still be effective, even if it were a personal name. In any case, it is difficult to choose between the option of a personal name or a title/kinship term (?). More evidence is needed.
